“Yeah.” Jade nodded and then shrugged. “New things happen. Of course they won’t replace coffee. No. Not at all.”
“That’s…different of you.” She giggled softly. “Of course they’d never replace coffee or I’d question you.”
“Yeah, if she brings carrots I wouldn’t really mind, since I didn’t want anything.” She smirked back. “Didn’t you hear? Carrots and I are best friends. Even if it’s hard to believe.”
“You made best friends with carrots?” She raised her eyebrows trying to conceal a laugh. “That’s…something new.” She let out a quiet giggle.
“What? It’s better to think the wors that way you might see it coming, and if she brings you carrots I’ll laugh and say ‘Told You So.’” She smiled softly at the poke on her cheek.
“Why would she bring me carrots? It’s not even a breakfast food.” She giggled softly and shook her head again. “Well, if she brings me carrots then I guess you can say ‘told you so’ but you’d also have to eat them.” She said with a smirk.
“Okay, if you’re so sure….” She kissed her back. “Then, let’s see what maybe pleaseant or un pleaseant surprise she gets.” She winked at her, smirking.
Cat couldn’t help but giggle again. “I’m sure the surprise will be pleasant..stop thinking the worst.” She playfully poked her cheek lightly, afraid if she touched her anywhere else it would cause her pain.

“You know something bad can happen when you say that? Maybe she’ll come back with nothing. That’d be a surprise, considering you expect something…. Or, maybe she’ll bring you broccoli and carrots. That’d also be a surprise.” She smirked at her.
Cat giggled softly and shook her head. “Babe, she’ll bring us something.” She said and kissed her again softly. “She’s not that mean…or maybe she is.” She shrugged and giggled.
Jade sighed softly. “I don’t know. Whatever you want to get… or that the freaking hospital allows her to bring for me.” She hated hospitals, especially their food and their stupid rules.
“Okay.” She smiled and texted her mom back and shoved her phone back in her pocket. “I told her to surprise us.” She giggled softly.
“But… I’m not hungry. I’ll eat later okay?” She didn’t like when her girlfriend did that face, it would probably take her anywhere with her. “I promise it. Only if you eat.”
Cat smiled, once she finally got her way. “Okay, what do you want my mom to bring you?” She asked getting ready to text her back.
Jade raised her eyebrows, feeling genuine surprise. “Uh, no, thanks.. I don’t feel like eating right now.” She felt enough pain, she didn’t want to know how would it feel while eating. Or maybe she wanted, just wasn’t willing to try. “You should ask her for something to eat, though. Hace you ate anything since yesterday morning?”
Cat shook her head and looked down at the text for a moment. “No, but you haven’t either. You haven’t eaten in days, you need to eat too babe.” She pouted, hoping she’d give into her.”Please eat…for me?” She added her big eyes to the cute little pout.
“I don’t know if I missed you while sleeping, but I feel like if I missed a lot, I missed you.” She sighed hearing and looking at her frown. “I know I sleep a lot, but… That didn’t mean I would sleep forever.” That was what Jade at least hoped. She wouldn’t care if she hadn’t wake up, if it wasn’t for Cat. She wouldn’t dare to leave her, the situation didn’t matter. Jade smiled softly back at Cat when listening to her.
Cat smiled, hearing all Jade had to say. Before she could say anything else she felt her phone buzzing in her pocket with a text from her mom. She quickly read it and looked up at Jade. “My mom wants to know if you’d like her to get you anything for breakfast.” She giggled softly, not really expecting her mom to have anything nice to say or offer.
